Salicylic Acid (Beta Hydroxy Acid)

Salicylic Acid resides deep in the heart of Willow Bark and Sweet Birch trees and is a highly effective peeling agent and an excellent pore cleanser with anti-wrinkle and anti-acne properties.

It works by gently removing old cells from the skin allowing it to be replaced with healthy skin; boosts collagen production and in turn balances oil production (less acne and blemishes); and lessens the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Salicylic Acid also has an anti-inflammatory effect. This acid is able to penetrate the oily material blocking pores and flush it out.

Results: Unlike Glycolic and Lactic Acids which are gradual peels, using a Salicylic peel may cause visible peeling that can last up to 3 days.

Please note that Salicylic Acid Peels are not recommended for use during pregnancy or lactation.

Description General Directions

Salicylic Acid works well for the following conditions:

Acne, Acne Scars, Blackheads/Whiteheads, Dry Skin, Sun-damaged Skin, Blotchy Pigmentation, Fine Wrinkles, Loss of Elasticity, Large Pores, in-grown hairs, Age Spots/Dark Spots, Seborrheic Keratosis, Hyperkeratosis, and Actinic keratosis.

Choosing a strength that's right for you:

20% Salicylic Acid (Strong Peel): Is a deeper exfoliation, perfect for acne and mature skin. Also recommended to start at a lower percentage unless you have already used Salicylic Acid.

10% Salicylic Acid (Medium Peel): Used for all skin types.

5% Salicylic Acid (Light Peel): This should be the first percentage for first-time usage and for more sensitive skin. This is our weakest peel and will give the same results as the stronger peels, but is a more gradual process.

Note about Retin A

If you are using Retin A products and want to use our Acid Peels, you will need to stop the treatments at least two-weeks before using the Peels. Retin A makes the skin very sensitive to the sun and to other products.

Distilled Water, Salicylic acid, Sodium Citrate, Propylene Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Hydroxyethyl Cellulose and Sodium Hydroxide.
